FAQ

Common questions about downloading and using V2Ray — see the full FAQ page for more.

Is the V2Ray client free?

Yes. The v2rayN, v2rayNG, and v2flyNG clients offered here are open-source and completely free, with public source code anyone can audit. Watch out for lookalike sites bundling paid software.

Which protocols does V2Ray support?

The core supports VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Shadowsocks, SOCKS, HTTP, and other protocols, with TCP, WebSocket, gRPC, mKCP transports and optional TLS/Reality encryption for flexibility across different network environments.

Which client should I download for Windows?

We recommend v2rayN — the most widely used Windows GUI client, bundled with the Xray/V2Ray core. It supports subscription imports, QR code scanning, batch latency testing, custom routing rules, and is actively maintained.

How do I import a subscription or node after downloading?

Paste your subscription link into the client's subscription settings and update to fetch all your nodes automatically. You can also import a single node by copying a vmess:// or vless:// share link from your clipboard, or scan a QR code. See our subscription import guide for details.

What if the connection fails or I can't get online?

Check in order: ① Is your system clock accurate (VMess requires under 90 seconds of drift)? ② Has the subscription or node expired? ③ Is a firewall or antivirus blocking the client? ④ Try a different transport protocol or port. Our quick start guide also covers basic troubleshooting steps.

Can I use it on multiple devices at once?

That depends on whether your node or subscription provider limits concurrent connections — the client itself has no device limit, so you can install it on your computer, phone, and router simultaneously.
